My name is Sandy Han, I am a mom to five kids ages 17,19  23,  25 and 26 I have three daughters and two sons. I am the President & Founder of Harvard Homeless Mission Inc which is a non-profit organization. With my organization, this work is not done alone, but with a team. I collaborate with different schools such as Lexington High School, Belmont High School, and Burlington High School. With my organization being fairly new, I am looking to expand and partner with more school, students, and community members to be a part of this mission to help serve vulnerable populations, specifically the homeless community.

 

There are four key areas that you can be involved in include the following:

1. Help create care packages (decorate bags, or make your care package bag) [Care packages include masks, hand sanitizer, snacks, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc]

2. Donate financially (any amount goes a long way! Even $1 can make a huge difference)

 

3. Graphic Design (Help to get the word out whether that it creating flyers, promoting the organization through social media, and/or helping to email various community members to help raise funds]

 

4. Purchase a gift card (Dunkin Donut, Panera, McDonald, Burger King, Chipotle, etc) yourself, and donate it to our organization which will be given directly to homeless individuals. 

 

With this in mind, at this time, for everyone’s safety, those who will be volunteering will not be able to provide items directly to the homeless individuals due to COVID-19. Safety and your health is my utmost priority! If you are interested in getting involved, please reach out to me, and I will follow up with next steps. Additionally, if you need volunteer hours, I would be more than happy to sign any documents that the school has provided.
